Different Equestrian Roles
You have a passion but not sure where to channel it? We can help you find your role

Beginner Rider
You have a love for horses but you have never taken that love further and sat in the saddle? You rode many moons ago and want to give it another go? Your child is showing an interest in horses and wants to learn how to ride! Let’s help get you started!

We will guide you in the right direction to find a club that suits your location and your needs. We want to help ignite the fire regardless of your age and experience. Grassroots Equestrian is extremely important to us!

Recreational Rider
Not everyone wants to be a competitive rider and that’s ok! Your love for horses lies in enjoying the scenery and riding through the landscapes with friends or family. There are clubs that offer beautiful outrides in various Eswatini settings for you to enjoy on horseback.

Future Elite Athlete
Future Elite athletes are aspiring competitive riders of any age who may have started competing or not…yet. These riders ride and compete as a hobby but are committed to the sport with big dreams that turn into goals through planning and training.

Elite Athlete
Elite Athletes are professionals who ride for a living.
If they are not at the top of the sport yet, their goal is to reach the top.
Is it your goal to be a professional athlete? We can put you in touch with experts who can turn your dreams into plans.

Coach
The fundamental person in athlete development. Coaches are the driving force of our athletes who are there to guide and progress riders from the lowest level to the highest level. EFE can guide you to a recognised course to become qualified.

Groom and/or Development Rider
Grooms are an integral part of our equestrian sport.
The primary care takers of our horses. It is part of EFE’s strategy to host educational courses for existing and aspiring grooms.

We also support and encourage development riders to take part in Eswatini Equestrian. If you are interested in becoming a groom or development rider we would like you to contact us

Discipline Judge
Discipline Judges are a compulsory element of competition ensuring fair play and correct results. Judges are part of our “Officials” panel and we encourage anyone who would like to get more involved in the sport to consider getting qualified.

Course Designer
Do you have a creative edge? Would you be interested in designing a Showjumping track and seeing a horse and rider jumping it?Course Designers are qualified officials who can develop a career path through this qualification by building at local shows and shows across the border. High level course designers get invited to build tracks o all over the world

Steward
Stewards are also qualified officials who ensure that the horse and athlete welfare rules are abided by and are also considered to be the show judge’s extended eyes on the ground. An essential individual that has the federation’s mandates, rules and regulations at heart.

Show Organiser
This is anyone with a passion for event organising! No qualifications needed. We are always encouraging more shows to be organised to progress our athletes through the ranks. Let the venue be your canvas for a fabulous outdoor sports event! We need you!

Show Assistance
Behind the show organiser and the officials are always a group volunteers who offer assistance on the day in the judges box or in the arena. Time keeping, scribing for the judge, gate marshalling, announcing are all some of the opportunities that are available to get involved in. For these duties we can train you on the spot and no prior experience is necessarily needed.

Discipline Committee Member
Each discipline has an appointed Head who is there to assist the EFE management committee within the space. These discipline heads need further assistance with various tasks that need to be completed, from show organising to fund raising .

Fund Raiser
Anyone who is willing to assist in fund raising is a valuable and appreciated member of our sport. There are various projects we fund raise for including competitions, officials training courses and athlete training courses.

Horse Owner
Would you like to own a horse and watch it compete with another rider? This is a very popular concept overseas and can make for a wonderfully exciting journey for people who love horses but don’t necessarily want to ride them themselves.

Development Sponsor
From grooms to development athletes - sponsors who wish to support growth and mass participation projects will be welcomed with open arms to assist future projects that have the potential to make dreams come true competitively as well as to create job opportunities.

Event Sponsor
Competitions are the only thing that grows athletes in a sport. Without shows our athletes will not progress. EFE hosts three national championships as well as three discipline specific World Challenges annually. We strive to make each event better than the last. Event sponsors are hugely appreciated and sponsorship packages can be tailor made.
